Q: Is PRO's Soft~Bait Glue just relabeled Super-type, Krazy-type, and Insta type cyanoacrylate glues that will just dry up on me after a 2 to 4 uses?

A: NO. Please, do not confuse us with some of the less expensive over the counter brands of glue that do not bond, dry brittle, hard and crusty, and dry up quickly after opening. Not all glues are alike and work on everything. Ours is just one of hundreds of Cyanoacrylate formulations just as Johnny Walker Red is a different brew than Johnny Walker, isn't it? I have demonstrated my glue at Sportman's shows and have kept the bottle open for 8 to 10 hours at a time without drying out in the tip or bottle. With PRO's Soft~Bait Glue, just 1 small drop is all you need for repairs on baits and other things, keeping it economical for you. Occasionally, you will as I do, have to peel excess glue off the tip. This is normal with glues, but ours stays liquid even when you have to unclog the bottle tip over extended time periods.

Tech Answer: Our glue is formulated to withstand more consumer abuse and guaranteed fresh. It contains less moisture so as not to dry out in the bottle for up to 1 full year if kept capped/push-pinned and out of extreme hot temperatures and direct sunlight.

Q: Mike, how do you know so much about glues?

A: I market Industrial Strength Glues for a living to consumers and business's by conducting demonstrations at Trade and Consumer Events and by mail order. It is my profession to have the knowledge on important data so I can answer questions my clients may ask. One of our glue products has a 3 year guarantee not to dry up after opening and a 5 year shelf life unopened. It is machineable, too. * By the way, it's also a Cyanoacrylate glue. Another brew.

Q: How can you guarantee your product to stick for 1 year and not to dry out in the bottle?

A: All cyanoacrylates are not alike. Our product is manufactured with precise formulations that out performs the over the counter products hands down. A lot of companies usually subcontract out to others to make their glues, resulting in poor quality control. Most products sold in stores have a high content of ester and water that speeds up the drying time when opened, making shelf life non-existent as soon as it's opened. Hence, keeping the consumers coming back to purchase more and more throwing their money away each time.

Q: How can I justify purchasing your 1/2 oz of glue for $10.29 compared, to say, Insta type-glues or others that I use all the time? And what are some of the other applications for your glue.

A: Suppose you use a lot of glue fishing, and purchase quasi-Super type glues and other over the counter glues and purchase, say, 6 or more tubes a year for fishing. The average price of .07 oz. of glue in retail stores is $1.75 per tube. 6 tubes/glue x $1.75 = $10.50. There you go, 1 cent more than our price and our glue is not dried up after 2 to 4 applications.

* Now for other uses. Here are some other repairs you can do with Pro's Soft~Bait Glue. Glue English Felts on waders. Save at least $3.00 on felt shoe glue. Having a great day fishing and ran out of baits and glued the saved ripped up Yamamoto Senko's between you and your buddy. Savings of $6 on 1 Bag of Senko's. Fixed ripped up sneaker sole. Sneaker Goo is $3.50. Glued the cork handle and fixed a guide ferrule on your Fenwick HMX ML 7' rod worth $110.00. Add up these savings. .50 + $3 felts + $6 senko's + $3.50 Sneaker goo + $110.00 Fenwick = $123.00 in savings from (1) 1/2oz. still liquid bottle of PRO's Soft~Bait Glue. Are you using a glue that is capable of gluing all of these various items and more?

Q: What happens if I am fishing and my fingers get glued together? How do I get them apart?

A: Carry finger nail polish remover with you on your outings. Treat this glue like other cyanoacrylates. Sooner or later you'll get something stuck together.

Q:Is that snap-on-cap on the applicator nozzle a good enough seal so it does not spill on my boat or car?

A:After the bottle is opened, it will leak if tipped over with the snap cap in place. I use a push pin in the nozzle of the bottle when fishing and using it afield and it keeps the nozzle opened at all times and ready to apply. Once I open a new bottle, unless I am using it on the work bench, I leave the push pin in the bottle from that day forward for convenience cleaning and/or replacing a push pin as needed. The PRO's Glue Holsters are now available for belts and keeps glue bottles upright & handy while fishing.

Q: I must be doing something wrong as my tip has clogged and I can't free it up. Can you tell me what to do?

A: Most times we are touching the nozzles on our baits or items we are gluing. Try to let the glue drop to the surfaces you are gluing and you will eliminate the clogging. This works for me. When you see the droplet about to drop from the nozzle, just barely touch the surface of say, a plastic worm, and it's usually plenty to bond what you're doing.

More than likely, the nozzle tip has picked up some particles, even oils from the baits which our glue is trying to adhere to and it's collecting around the nozzle tip. This is common with all adhesives because the glue is just trying to perform as it should and glue things together. Think back of the days when we slathered wood glues on wood surfaces and used the nozzle as a spreader on the wooden parts. If we picked up any particles of dust, chips, etc., it ended up at the tip, clogged within a short period of time.

Unclogging: unscrewing our glue nozzle cap and soaking in acetone overnight will unclog them easily. Make sure that the nozzle is 100% free of any glue and dry before replacing on bottle or you will reinvent another clog. If afield and you clog your nozzle, unscrew the nozzle from the bottle and push a paper clip through the nozzle tip from the inside to the outside. You have pushed the problem out of the nozzle instead of pushing it back in the bottle as we do when inserting something inward. Most of the time you will have clog free operation if you just don't touch the nozzle with anything other than an occassional peeling off of glue build up on the exterior of the nozzle.. If you do need another nozzle, please call our office to order one.

Q: What is the life expectancy of your glue if I keep it cool in the refrigerator like your instructions read?

A: Over 1 year providing you do not expose PRO's Glue to HOT temperatures and direct sunlight for days and days and leave it open in humid conditions for hours and hours. Any adhesive will suffer degradation under these conditions. Over 1 year is a safe answer since everyone has different applications and conditions they will use PRO's Soft~Bait Glue on. I will say this, you will smile everytime you go back for it and it's ready to use and not hardened.

Q: I keep getting white streaks on the sides of my darker colored worms after gluing the worm head to the hook eye. Any way to avoid this?

A: White streaks cannot be prevented when excess glue runs down your baits and you put the bait in water as the water cures our glue faster. Change your thinking a little on gluing soft~baits with PRO's Soft~Bait Glue with - "Less is BEST" thinking and the streaking will subside. Try 1 very small drop in any torn area and squeeze together for a couple of seconds and most of the time, that will be plenty to bond that entire area that needs repairing. Wipe off the excess very quickly with a cloth towel and you won't have that happen. Bigger saltwater baits, of course, will require more glue. Most of us are accustomed to putting on a lot of glue on most all things we try to bond so, you are not alone.
